Types of Challenges

1. Describe the Future Center facility, staff and participants: What is it? Who are they? What do they do?  

• The Future Center is special needs non-profit organization operated by Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Ministry of Social Affairs. They educate special need student to improve their skills and potential.

      2. Describe in detail the challenges the staff faces, the participants face:  

• Staff should understand the special need of each individual student they have and then work toward improve their skills, educate and awaken their potential. In the other hand the students face abilities limitations environmental limitations and Judgments based on the special case of each individual.

      3. What have they achieved so far?

• The Future Center For Special Needs is Winner Of 2009-2010 Khalifa Award for Education In The Special Needs Category.
• 2011 Award  For Outstanding Director - Princess Haya Award For Special Education.
• 70 special need students are now at regular schools and colleges.
• 7 special need previous students now working and they have jobs.

      4. What are their future goals?

•  To equip individuals with disabilities with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to realize their full potential, in a safe, secure, and stimulating environment, in order for them to lead fulfilling lives.
• To increase public awareness of disabilities and to empower the various stakeholders with appropriate knowledge and skills in dealing with people with disabilities.
• The Future Center is working towards becoming a premier institution with standard of practice and service that is at par with the best national and international benchmarks.  

      5. How does this information relate to cultural diversity?  

• Future Center is an Emirati Organization which has teachers comes from different nationalities and different cultures which they teach a special need students come from different nationalities and from different cultures.Teachers come from different cultures brings different ideas,experiences and methods to educate the students.In the process of educating special need students , Both teachers and students exchange different ideas about their different cultures.Cultural diversity is strengthen the education environment,Opens new horizons and new hopes for Future Center.
